I am a volunteer for librivox.org. I have recorded chapters for "The Phantom of the Opera," "A Tale of Two Cities," and I am currently undertaking a solo recording of Homer's "The Iliad," from the Samuel Butler transcription.
For more information about librivox, click the link above. To listen to my recordings, click here.
I'm also at other, disconnected places: MySpace, Newsvine, del.icio.us....
I have a number of places on the web with photos I've taken. I fancy myself a photographer but I'm really just a guy who likes to take pictures with a nice camera. Links here, here and here.
In-world, I'm Jamey Sismondi and I love to sail! I do in RL, too! I am on the team for the Mowry Bay YC entry in the 2006 SLSF Cup, taking place from July through September. I plan on eventually adding a page or two here to help you learn how to sail in Second Life. I'm presently working on a self-paced sailing school at Mowry Bay YC. Head upstairs, above the dance floor, to find it...
In addition to the sailing, I'm on the Museum Staff at the International Spaceflight Museum in Spaceport Alpha. Give that place a teleport! Manned by current and former NASA, JPL and other space agency staffers as well as volunteer aficionados like myself, the ISM has earned a well-garnered reputation as one of the best educational sites in SL.
I'm absolutely blown away at the possibilities within SL for real-life education and communication. I'm currently developing a proposal with a local, not-for-profit organization to create an in-world place where young cancer patients can congregate to share experiences and learn in a virtual playground. I'll keep this space posted with my progress.
